Embroidery
Workshops:
In Manitoba, as the weather
gets cooler and the days grow shorter, thoughts turn towards indoor
activities. This would be a similar occurrence in the traditional Polish
home. One popular indoor activity was embroidery. Polish homes drew
on a rich tradition of patterns and styles, with each region having
its own distinctive colours and motifs.
The Ogniwo Polish Museum
is offering a series of 4 introductory Polish embroidery techniques
workshops. The workshops will take place at the Ogniwo Museum on the
following dates:
Tuesday
October 14, 21, 28, and November 4, 2008, 7 - 9 PM
The cost for the series is
$40 per participant. Participants need to provide their own embroidery
hoop and scissors. All other supplies will be provided (the cost of
these supplies is included in the workshop fee).
For further information regarding
these workshops, please call 586-5070 or e-mail info@polishmuseum.com.
